About Us

New Vision Christian Academy was born out of our desire to impact the lives of children in the Mesquite area both educationally and spiritually; equipping them with the knowledge and skills to excel and succeed in life.  At the heart of our mission is the desire to provide excellence in education with a strong biblical foundation.  Our children need a challenging academic program and we believe that includes a strong biblical foundation.

The academy is a ministry of New Vision Family Fellowship Church whose focus is on ministering to “today’s family”.  Jerry Bell is our Senior Pastor.  By design our church exists to reach a specific family group consisting of singles, single parents, blended families, and traditional families.  We seek to give a spiritual foundation and build partnerships with families who deal with difficulties that arise from divorce, remarriage (blended families), single parenting, and life issues in general.

New Vision Christian Academy is open to children from every area of community life.  It is our belief that “God only brings the very best” to New Vision and we think that holds true in New Vision Christian Academy.  Our commitment to parents and students is to build a partnership between staff, students, and parents to facilitate a learning experience that will bring fulfillment and challenge students to excel academically and spiritually.

Our expectation is that our staff, students, and parents will collectively and individually maintain a level of effort that fosters scholastic excellence and creates continued obedience to the commands of Christ for our lives individually and corporately.  While we are laying the foundation for success in life, which includes equipping students for future college preparation, business and career goals, we also seek to prepare each person to fulfill the call of God upon their lives to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be fruitful Kingdom citizens.

Statement of Faith

We Believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God.  It is our “guide for faith and practice” and is infallible and without error in the original languages.  II Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  1 John 5:7 “For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit; and these three are on.”

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.  We believe in His virgin birth, in his sinless life, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross of Calvary, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory, John 3:16, For God So love the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  Colossians 2:9, “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in the bodily form…”

We believe that salvation is by faith alone in Jesus Christ through his grace and that regeneration is the work of the Holy Spirit.  Ephesians 2:8-9, “for by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the Gift of God, lest any man should boast.” Titus 3:5-7, “He save us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to his mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that being justified by His grace we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal live.”

We believe it is the command of Christ for every believer to follow Christ in believers baptism.  Baptism is the outward expression of our faith in Jesus Christ, the testimony of our confession of and turning away from sin in repentance to live in Christ Jesus through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit.  Acts 2:38, “And Peter said, Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for (because of) the forgiveness of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

We believe that it is the God given mandate of every believer to share his/her faith in Christ and actively pursue partnerships in the furtherance of the gospel.  This includes teaching children the foundations and doctrines of our fait.  Matthew 28:19, 20, “Go ye therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commended you.”
